Sourdough Weekend
Friday, March 21st to Sunday, March 23rd
We’ll be stocking fresh, locally baked sourdough bread in lots of fun flavors: strawberry, bacon cheddar, and more! This bread is super soft and flavorful, and freezes and toasts well. We’ll also have a gluten-free option.

Heirloom Tomatoes
The first heirloom tomatoes of the season from Florida have arrived in the shop! Expect to see local mushrooms, greens, cabbage, onions, and carrots this month, plus freshly dug new potatoes and baby potatoes.
Veggie Plants & Seeds
Cold-tolerant early spring veggie plants like leafy greens, cabbage and cauliflower have arrived, as well as a variety of herb plants, seeds, onion sets and seed potatoes. We also have blueberry, blackberry and strawberry plants.
Spring Flowers
Early spring flowers like Lenten roses, pulmonaria, creeping phlox, pansies, and primroses are coming in! Give us a call at 703-971-4068 if you want to know if a particular plant is currently in stock.
Our Story
In 1961, a young Cary Nalls started selling veggies from a little wagon on a dirt road. As word spread, that wagon grew into a store, and Cary started adding plants and produce from his network of local growers.
Today, Nalls continues to expand, but it remains family owned & operated by 3 generations of Nalls. Come visit us and you’ll still see Cary out working in the yard, his daughter Valerie (winner of the 2015 Garden Center Young Retailer of the Year award) helping people find plants, and his grandchildren chasing the chickens.
Whether you swing by to find the perfect peach, play in the pumpkin patch in the fall, find some new things for your garden, or just to visit with the chickens and Penny the pig – we want to welcome you too to the Nalls family.
