Azaleas (pick up at Nalls starting tomorrow)

Azaleas are a classic shrub that blooms in the spring (these are not currently in bloom). These hardy, low-maintenance plants thrive in partial shade and well-drained, acidic soil. Ideal for borders, woodland gardens, or foundation plantings, azaleas offer color and foliage that attract pollinators! Azaleas need 3 to 5 feet of space to grow and require regular watering. Note: Choose size online and select the variety at pickup. 

• Full to part sun
• Growth will be different based on environment:
  • Sun = more dense growth, will need more water
  • Shade = more rangy, see through growth
• Water 3 x a week in their first summer
• Use good soil at planting, fertilize with an acidic fertilizer like Holly-tone, and trim annually right after they finish blooming to shape and remove spent flowers. They will slowly grow up to four feet tall, but can be trimmed to be kept smaller.
